Smarcon began as an idea by President and CEO, Marty Waisbord, who dreamed of bringing construction into the future. When Marty was introduced to BIM solutions applied to construction, he embraced the opportunity to improve the construction process on all levels. Marty developed Smarcon as an affiliate company, working hand in hand with his leading construction company, Promont.
“In the past, architects, engineers, and contractors would have difficulties in coordination and communication,” explains Marty Waisbord, President and CEO of both Promont and Smarcon. “This confusion is often due to the fact that they are speaking different *design languages* and have a lack of insight and knowledge into what the other
is doing. With the design-build approach and BIM, I am confident that having a cohesive model that is correct and houses all disciplines will clarify all issues and unify all parties involved.
